2025 TikTok...
Hey and welcome back to 'diaryofanoverthinker' today I'll be talking about TikTok in 2025 because the year just started and there's already so much happening. So sit back ,relax and enjoy!
The ban
That ban was the most short-lived thing ever!I mean, since the start of the year, everyone was going on and on about the ban, saying they were going to rednote and all that. Then, it turned into people bringing back 2020 TikToks, collabing like crazy, and so much more. Only for it to be reversed a few hours later. It was like, what even was that?!
Then, on top of all that, we had a bunch of Americans beefing with other countries over 'talking behind their back,' while they were gone and people who deleted TikTok yapping about how they couldn’t get it back. The year just started and the ban already caused so much drama.
Paultooreal
Honestly, the way he’s been absolutely killing it this year is wild. The collabs, the edits, the mentions—he’s getting somuch attention now, and it’s crazy seeing him blow up. And then, on top of that, the OG fans are going insane with excitement. I love it. We’ve been watching his videos from day one, and now we’re watching everyone getting to know about him.
And can we talk about how surreal it is that he went from joking about only being able to pull push doors to this? The growth has been insane. Seriously, the edits people are making, and all these huge creators liking his stuff—it’s just like, "Wow, this is actually happening!" There's something so special about being an OG fan and watching someone you’ve supported from the start finally get their moment.
The 2025 trends
2025 TikTok is never going to match 2024 or 2022, but it’s definitely been interesting so far. I mean, the Brothaa song is kind of the first big trend of the year, and while it’s getting a little annoying, the fact that it’s Mufasa-related is actually kind of cool. Then there’s the whole "raise you YAYAYA" meme, which lowkey feels like the first meme of 2025 (okay, I kinda like it though…).
And then we have people trying to bring back 2020 trends since a lot of people are convinced 2025 is going to be the “next 2020” because of the new virus , the WTF beginning days and all that. Personally, I don’t mind the few 2020 comebacks I’ve seen. Despite all the chaos that year, it was actually kind of a nice little break (if you were a kid, anyway).
Overall thoughts
Considering it's only January and so much has already happened (and this is just the TikTok stuff), I’m really intrigued to see what else is going to happen this year. Will it be the next 2020? Will TikTok get banned again? I honestly can’t wait to see, but all things considered, it’s not that bad—even though everyone’s complaining.
