Book recommendations mid 2023
Heyyy and welcome back ! Today I’ll be giving you book recommendations from the books I’ve read so far within the year. In total there are 12 books but I’ve divided the blog into 7 parts as some are book series. So sit back, relax and enjoy.
AGGGTM
First is A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson aka AGGGTM.this was the 1st book series I read this year and it is amazing. It consists of 3 books and a stand alone book that shows a bit of a prologue. This book series is amazing full of suspense and insane plot twists. This book got me out of my reading slump and didn’t take long to read at all. I definitely recommend all 12-13 year olds read this book.
Five Survive
Next is five survive which is also by Holly. This book is also amazing ,the beginning is a bit slow but once the plot unfold it’s a rollercoaster with twist and turns making it impossible to put down. It’s obviously nothing like AGGGTM but it’s still amazing and worth the read.
The Inheritance Game
Now for one of my absolute favourite series is the inheritance games which also consists of 3 books and the stand alone coming out 29th August. This book is amazing the Hawthorne brothers are definitely overrated on booktok but they’re still amazing. The plot twist are amazing and unexpected and let’s not forget the epic love triangle between Avery, Jameson and Grayson. This is a must read for people 13 and up I honestly don’t think anyone is too old to enjoy the suspense and excitement of this book. Plus it escalates with each book!
As Long As The Lemon Trees Grow
As Long As The Lemon Trees Grow is an amazing book and is so underrated. I loved this book it’s a cute but sad Muslim story. It illustrates the struggles of a Syrian girl and probably every other Syrian too. It truly shows you what’s actually happens but stays interest with the plots of the story. It is a bit sad but majority of it is cute and really interesting. I honestly love this book so much and think people need to give it a try because it is such an amazing read
The Alchemist
Ok now I know I’m going to sound kinda annoying but you have to read the alchemist it sound boring I know but it’s not. It’s a quick an easy read with amazing life lessons hidden by an intriguing story. I personally found the last 30 pages long to read but that’s just me I think. The book is actually really good and is like a 2 day read if you don’t have school and that kinda stuff. So I know it sounds boring but you will not regret reading it so please just give it a try.
The Folk of The Air
Back to the booktok books we all love is the folk of the air series mostly known as the cruel prince. I’ve only read the first book but it is amazing and I can’t wait to read the other 2 books. It’s yet again full of intriguing plot twists that will leave you jaw dropped and you won’t be able to put it down. I think we all want to read this because of booktok and trust me it’s not one of the overrated ones it’s actually worth the hype and I hate that I didn’t buy it sooner.
The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens
Lastly I have to mention this self help book. The 7 habits of highly effective teens is an amazing book based on the seven habits of highly efficient people just it’s written by the authors son and has fun comics and sayings on the side making it a little more fun to read. This will actually help you quite a bit in many aspects of your life. The activities are also really fun but helpful. So while self help books are boring this is really helpful and I think all teenagers should own a copy
