Motivation for Term 4

Motivation for Term 4

Heyyy and welcome back to diaryofanoverthinker. Today I’ll be giving you motivation and tips for term 4 since it starts on Monday and no one is prepared including me so sit back, take notes and enjoy!

Diet

Ok so this is something I see a lot when watching tips for teenagers, school etc and I’m actually going to or at least I’m going to try it out this term because A:I need to be at my best this term and B: you should be healthy in general.

Ok so starting off drink a lot of water now this is something I generally do but one thing that really helps is getting one of those bottles that monitor how much water you drink that you can get from Shein or Typo and I’m sure there’s other stores but those are the main ones. Their also really cute and aesthetic so it makes being healthy fun if you’re one of those people who hate drinking water.

Next is snacks, now one thing I’ve noticed about people is they eat a lot of snacks while studying and their mostly full of so I think I need to mention sugary snacks. Sugar snacks are nice but usually when studying you should eat snacks that help such as nuts or chocolate or at least I heard it’s good when studying I don’t really know but I would go with dark chocolate since it is healthier. Another snack that’s healthy that I’ve come to enjoy is rice cakes now hear me out you get really yuck ones I know but some are really good , for example the ones at Woolworths are flavoured and really tasty, you also get chocolate coated ones.

So yeah im not going to give a whole diet but for me those are the 2 biggest things when it comes to eating healthy. That and cutting down coffee if you’re the student who drinks coffee like water when studying.

Study Methods

Now for the actual study part you need to find a system that works for you.

Summary notes

One of the techniques pretty much my whole class uses that helps is making notes. Now when taking notes don’t rewrite you’re textbook and don’t buy notes none of these will help. Simply summarize the textbook and add in a few notes you took down in class that the teacher said and you thought it would be important. Writing them yourself will help because writing helps memorizing and you can add colour as that helps stimulate the brain and makes your notes look pleasant to go over making studying a little better.

Blurt method

This is another method some of my classmates use and it’s basically when you learn a section then close your books and write everything you remember, once you’re done you take a different colour pen and write down what ever you left out and learn that. Repeat this till you feel comfortable with that section and then move on.

These are only 2 methods but there’s lots more and once you find the one that works for you you’ll do perfectly fine.

Paying attention in class

Now this is very important especially for a term such as term 4 because when you pay attention in class studying feels like revision and becomes a lot easier. Another good thing is if you’re paying attention you can ask questions that will help and you can even realize how many times you’re teacher actually says that something is important for the test.

Random tips

· Get enough sleep so you can be well rested for your exams

· Study alone because group studying never ends up with you actually studying

· Make/find study playlists because they can be helpful to block out distractions and get you in the zone as long as the music/Nasheed etc doesn’t distract you

· Find a virtural study room where you get the effect of studying somewhere from your laptop because I hear it helps(P.S the Harry Potter one seems really cool)

. Take breaks so you don’t burn out

· Don’t read or go on your phone during study breaks because then you’re simply just processing more information instead just sit and daydream trust me it helps

· Find a fictional character to motivate you such as Rory Gilmore, Pairs Geller, Hermione Granger, Blair Waldorf, etc

· Don’t spend every wakening second studying

· Try studying early in the morning because you are most productive in the early morning plus everyone’s asleep so you won’t get distracted.

· Exercise ( I need to start this but it definitely helps with studying so try going for a walk/run because its exercise and nature both of which help with studying)

Little motivation

I know studying is hard but remember the amazing feeling of getting your mark and it’s better than most marks that makes it all worth it. Remember what it will be like when you finally make it remember your goals and dreams and lastly remember that if your dreams don’t scare you their not big enough .

You can do it, you can become the 1% if you put in the effort!

I hope this motivated you to study and work hard in term 4 and I really hope it helps. As always if you have any questions or suggestions feel free to contact me at adiaryofanoverthinker@gmail.com
