My Trip To Turkey
hey and welcome back to 'diaryofanoverthinker' today I'll be telling you all about my trip to Bodrum and Istanbul. This blog will have 2 sections one for Bodrum and then another for Istanbul. Anyways sit back ,relax and enjoy!
Bodrum
Now before we begin where is Bodrum? Bodrum is a small city in Turkey that is known for it's lovely beaches and resorts.
Day 1-21/09: One the first day we originally landed in Istanbul and then had to take a 2nd 1 hour flight to Bodrum.Once we arrived we had to drive to our resort The OBA Hotel which was only 20 minutes away from the airport. On arrival we checked in and went to have breakfast because well we were starving and hadn't eaten since the night before. After breakfast we went to our hotel room to shower up and change before exploring the resort and chilling on the beach.
Day 2- 22/09: The second day like most days of this part of the holiday was chilled but I mean that is the point when you're literally staying on a beach. We read books by the beach, chilled, ate amazing food and honestly just had fun together as a family even if we were reading different books.
Day 3- 23/09: We mostly had the same routine of relaxing and reading on the beach however my mum did go to the spa and while the rest of the hotel was amazing and we loved our stay she found the spa to be quite underwhelming considering the price. She also said she'd been to cheaper spas that were way better here in Joburg.
Day 4-24/09- The 4th day was honestly the best last day ever! While we did our normal relaxing and beach walks and sunset we also played in the water a bit and went for a small music show on the roof deck at night and I genuinely think it was the perfect end to our stay at The OBA Hotel.
All in all Bodrum was amazing and I loved the OBA hotel the food was amazing, the beach and pool was fun and the few extra activities were also really nice.
Istanbul
Day 1-25/09: This was mostly travel from Bodrum to Istanbul since even though it was a 1 hour flight between the driving and security and all it turned into a whole day event. However later that night we did end up walking around because our hotel(Ajwa Hotel) was in a pretty central area and ended up.eating dinner at a place called Dervish.
Day 2-26/09: We woke up early because we had a tour so that wasn't really nice but once I was out the house and ate some food from a small cart I was kind of feeling the tour. The tour was of all the main things such as Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace etc. Even though we had to walk and I ended up with sore feet and an unreal amount of steps I really enjoyed it and even walked around to get dinner later on at a place called Serbethane Cafe.
Day 3-27/09:It was a Friday so it ended up being pretty chilled. My dad went for sallah, so it was just my mum and I in the hotel for awhile and after my dad returned from the masjid we began our touring. We went to the grand bazaar and ended up eating something there. Later on towards the evening we went to Taksim and walked around and shopped a bit because why not before returning home and getting a good nights rest.
Day 4-28/09: On our last day in Istanbul we went to Galata Tower and had the infamous San Sebastian Cheesecake. It was so creamy and tasted amazing especially with the chocolate on top, while it was busy I think it was worth it and ended the trip on a good tone.
