Ramadan 2026

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

Welcome to 'diaryofanoverthinker'.I hope everyone’s having an amazing Ramadan so far and that everyone’s fasts have been easy. Today, I’ll be talking about my goals for Ramadan and just overall everything I’m excited for (or maybe not so excited for), so sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Qur'aan

As always, I want to complete a Khatam this year and hopefully actually finish it during Ramadan. I’m also planning to help out a bit more with the class Khatam this year.

Another big goal of mine is to improve my reading and really focus on reciting with proper tajweed. Last year, I had a Qur’an tagging kit that highlighted all the du’as in the Qur’an. This year, I’m planning to go through them at the start maybe reading just a few each day and InshaAllah, eventually working up to reading all of them every day.

Salaah

I know I always say this, and somehow along the way I stop trying, but I really want to start praying my salaah with more concentration and at a slower pace. On the first of Ramadan, I wrote a tafsir paper about khushu and ihsaan in salaah, and it truly made me realise that I need to put in more effort and be more mindful in my prayers.

Another thing that’s closely linked to salaah, khushu, and ihsaan is making wudhu properly. Like many people, I sometimes rush and only complete the four fardh parts, even though I do have enough time to perform my full wudhu with care and focus. So from today, I’m going to try my best to do that with khushu and ihsaan, inshaAllah.

Umrah

I’ll also be going for Umrah, inshaAllah, during the last ten nights. That’s where I really hope to slow down in my salaah and truly focus on my Qur’an. When you’re there, you don’t have the same everyday worries or responsibilities and since you’re fasting, you don’t even need to think about food. It’s such a special opportunity to completely focus on your worship.

I’m honestly so excited, and I can’t wait to pray Taraweeh there. It truly is such an amazing and unforgettable experience.

Test/exams

Okay guys, seriously tests in Ramadan are a lot. What do you mean I have to balance Taraweeh, waking up early for sehri, reading Qur’an, and somehow still study? And then when I actually have the test, I’m tired, thirsty, and my brain feels like it’s malfunctioning.

Honestly, this is not for the weak. 😭 But at the same time, studying does give me something to do on the weekends to help pass the time, so for that, I’m kind of grateful.

Overall

Overall, I just want to become a better Muslim and strengthen my imaan by cutting out sins and increasing my ibadah, just like everyone else. Ramadan is my favourite month, and as tiring as it can be at times, I’m truly so happy that it’s finally here.

Yeah so that's all for today, I hope everyone enjoyed todays blog and I hope everyone has an amazing Ramadan,

Until next time
