Random Book Talk

Hey and welcome to 'DiaryofanOverthinker'.Today, I’m diving into my favorite topic once again—books—because let’s be honest, that’s my one true obsession. This post is a continuation of last week’s blog, and I’ll be rambling (in the best way) about the Boys of Tommen series in general. So sit back, relax and enjoy this amazing yap session.

Novellas / Spin-Off Series I Want to See

Okay, so as you all know, I am obsessed with this series. Naturally, that means I’ve been dreaming about novellas and spin-off series featuring certain characters. I'm writing them here with the hope that the impossible will happen—Chloe will somehow stumble across this blog and make all my book dreams come true. (Delulu is the sulu guys)

Novellas

Mark and Caoimhe
Okay, hear me out—do I want a whole book about them? Not really, mostly because I cannot stand Mark. But I would love a novella, just to get a peek into their relationship and understand their dynamic a bit more. I want to see how Mark was with Caoimhe, what she saw in him, and just get a glimpse into their world through their POVs.

Shane Holland
I feel like this could really work. In my head, Shane would give off Barry-from-OBX energy—and let’s be real, Barry was a vibe. A gritty little novella about Shane’s life and how he ended up where he did would be so interesting. Not full novel material, but definitely worth a solid novella.

Peter Biggs (after Joe Gibson’s death)
This one would break me, but I need it. We all know Peter was never the same after Joe died, and I feel like a short story or novella exploring that day and the aftermath would be devastating but powerful. Especially with the Allens moving in—it would add so much emotional depth.

Loved this idea

Spin-Off Series

Parents of Tommen
Let’s just all agree that this is needed. A spin-off series all about the parents? Absolutely yes. Give me their stories, their chaos, their heartbreaks, their teenage years—I want it all. The series could be called Parents of Tommen and I’d devour every book.

John and Edel
The series has to start with them. They are easily the best parents in the Tommen universe, and we know they’ve got a story worth telling. Honestly, I feel like their book would be the perfect mix of Joey and Shan’s stories. We already know Edel understands Joey on a deeper level, and the fact that John and Edel used to live together just like Shan and Johnny because Edel had no where to go. I need to know more.

Teddy and Marie – “Forever Fourteen”
Everyone agrees: we need this. And yes, Forever Fourteen is the perfect title. I don’t even have to explain what this book should include—we all know it would wreck us in the best way.

The Biggs & The Gibsons
These could be two separate books, but they’d work so well together—kind of like Johnny, Gibsie, Shan, and Claire, or even Gibsie, Claire, Hugh, and Lizzie. They all grew up together, they were close friends, and they definitely have a story that deserves to be told. They’d be like the OG Core Four (yes, I know it’s Core Ten now, but you get me).

Trish and Tony
These two are hands down some of the best parents in the series, and I’ve developed such a soft spot for both of them. I need a book about how they met, how they raised Aoife and well Kevin too I guess and just all the Trish-and-Tony goodness.

Tadgh Lynch

He Needs a Book!! (Tadgh Deserves the Spotlight)

Tadgh absolutely needs his own book. He is 100% Joey 2.0—same quiet intensity, same emotional depth, and just as unforgettable. And let’s be real, we all love Tadgh.

Unlike Sean and Ollie, who I believe will grow up surrounded by John and Edel’s love and eventually find peace, Tadgh is stuck in a much more complicated space. Joey and Shan each found their own ways to cope and heal—but Tadgh? He’s just alone. He’s the one who won't forget but will be treated like he did.

We know Chloe can write beautifully from the POV of quiet, emotionally complex characters (ahem Joey), so imagine what she could do with Tadgh. He’s got the emotional weight, the potential for healing, and the character arc just waiting to be written.

I think we can all agree: Tadgh deserves his own book. And if it ever happens? I will be the first to buy it.

So yeah that's the other books I'm waiting for Chloe to write because it is a need.I hope you enjoyed todays blog and I hope everyone is having an amazing July holiday.

until next time
