Study/Exam Goals

Hey and welcome to 'diaryofanoverthinker' today I will be telling you all about my goals for term 2 exams since they're starting next week and term 2 is incredibly important. So sit back relax and enjoy todays blog!
Studying:
Procrastination
I think I speak for most teenagers when I say that studying sucks. I always end up putting off getting started, and then obviously regretting it later. This term, I’ve decided to try my absolute hardest to change that. I want to put my full energy into studying—no more half-hearted, lazy attempts. I want to study properly, like I have an exam coming up in a few hours, not in a few weeks/days. If I can actually stick to that mindset, I know I’ll feel way better in the long run.
Sticking to a Timetable
Whenever exams come around, I usually make a study timetable—but once I actually start studying, I never end up sticking to it. I just end up doing my own thing and abandoning the plan completely. While this approach hasn’t necessarily failed me in the past, I know I could benefit a lot more from following a well-planned study schedule. A timetable is supposed to help me stay focused, manage my time better, and reduce last-minute panic. So this term, I’m going to try to actually stick to the timetable I create and use it as a guide instead of just a decoration.

Actually Studying at School
Before our exams, we always get some time to study at school—but let’s be real, even when you’re “studying” with friends, most of the time is spent talking. Then there are those five minutes before the paper starts, where you somehow manage to learn more than you have all year. This term, though, I want to change that. I’m going to try to actually use that school study time for real revision. Of course, I’ll still make use of those classic five minutes, but hopefully not out of sheer panic this time.

Waking Up Early
I’m a morning person, so I get the most work done in the early hours. I always tell myself I’ll wake up early, pray Fajr, and then get straight into studying—but once the weekend comes around, I get lazy and end up wasting that quiet, productive time. This term, I’m committing to actually sticking to my plan. I’m going to wake up early, get my studying done, and make the most of my mornings. That way, I’ll not only be more productive, but I’ll also be able to enjoy my weekends a bit more—hopefully finishing my work by 12:00 or 13:00.

Overall
Diet
I think everyone starts eating unhealthy junk food when they study because, honestly, it just makes the whole thing a bit more bearable. Personally, I can’t get through a proper study session without munching on multiple snacks. But I also know that it’s not great for me—and definitely not the best for my brain or mental health. In the long run, that can only hurt my studies (yes, I know I sound like an LO textbook). So, this term, I’m going to try my best to eat healthier. That doesn’t mean I’ll be cutting out snacks completely, but I’ll be switching to better options—like salty but healthier snacks, fruit, or even energy bars that actually give me a real boost, not just a sugar rush.

Exercise
Ok so usually I run almost every morning since I do cross country and I want to actually stick to it during exams for two main reasons. 1 Exercise is good for your brain and that is obviously helpful during exam season so if I can in a run before I study that would be great. 2 I obviously can't just quiet or take a break because I'm studying that's not a good enough excuse and I need to keep that in mind.

Sleep
I also want to make sure I get enough sleep this term. During exam time, I always feel really tired, and the last thing I need is to make that worse by not getting enough rest. So my goal is to get at least 8 hours of sleep every night—and actually stick to it. Getting proper rest will help me focus better, feel less stressed, and perform way better in my exams.

So that's all my goals and obviously succeeding and getting good marks. I wish everyone the best of luck for exams and I hope every has an amazing Eid!
until next time
