The Summer I Turned Pretty

The Summer I Turned Pretty

Hey and welcome to 'diaryofanoverthinker'. Today, we’re diving into none other than

The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3 — and trust me, there’s a lot to talk about.

This week has been chaotic, to say the least. Between Paul’s insane 1 million party, the never-ending Ashley Barnes drama, and even that couple who got caught cheating at a Coldplay concert , my head has been spinning. I had so many hot topics lined up for this post — but after surviving the first week of Term 3, I figured we all deserve something a bit more light-hearted.So, let’s talk heartbreaks, love triangles, and the return to Cousins Beach. Let’s talk The Summer I Turned Pretty.

Team Conrad

Okay, let me just say it loud and clear — I have always been Team Conrad. This isn’t some last-minute switch-up just because of all the chaos Jere’s been stirring up this season. Nope. I’ve been team Conrad from day one, and honestly? Season 3 is peak Team Conrad content.

And to be fair, in the first two seasons, Conrad was going through a lot. He was just a kid trying to cope with the reality of his mom’s cancer — and then the heartbreak of losing her. That kind of grief changes people. So while it doesn’t excuse all of his actions, it definitely makes them more understandable.

Taylor and Steven

Like... what are they even doing anymore? I gave up on Belly a while ago, if I’m being totally honest. Her character just got more and more frustrating. At this point, I was really only watching for Taylor and Steven (like most of us, let’s be real).

But even that is starting to feel messy this season. Don’t get me wrong — I still love Taylor. She’s the relatable, confident bestie we all want. But their relationship? Lowkey starting to feel forced and weirdly toxic. And honestly, why is everyone cheating in this show???

Like, is fidelity not a thing in Cousins Beach? Can one couple just not self-destruct for once? Not to mention we're not even in Cousins this season(I hope that changes soon)

Jeremiah

Why is Jere, like, 10x more annoying this season? I swear, every episode I keep hoping he’ll redeem himself and then... he somehow gets worse. And don’t even get me started on his scenes with Belly — most of them feel either weirdly forced or straight-up cringe. There’s just no natural chemistry anymore.

First, he’s not graduating (???), which was already kind of a red flag, especially when Conrads done with Med school and all. Then he breaks up with Belly because he didn’t tell her about a trip, she gets mad (rightfully so, let’s be honest), and somehow he’s the one pulling away? And look — I know he technically didn’t cheat, but the fact that he didn’t tell her when they got back together is a total red flag because why are you hiding it?

And then the cherry on top: like a day after they break up, he turns around and proposes the second they get back together?? It’s all just so... dumb. It doesn’t feel romantic. It feels rushed and messy and like he's trying to fix everything with a grand gesture instead of actually taking accountability.

So yeah I don't know this season feels so very different from all the others and I have mixed feelings about it but at least everyones turning to the right team.I'm excited for the rest of the season to come out and also nervous. I hope you enjoyed todays blog.

Until next time
