What to do when bored in Ramadan

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ

Welcome back to 'diaryofanoverthinker' today I'll be sharing a few things I enjoy doing when I'm bored except it's Ramadan and everything is slightly more boring especially in the school holidays. So sit back relax and enjoy(bc reading my blog is also fun to read when you're bored)

Learning new things

So when you're bored normally you'd go on your phone or do something really random that's not productive at all but will pass time. However since it's Ramadan maybe try doing something slightly more educational. Now I don't wanna be that person but we all know what I'm saying is true plus we really don't have lives outside of school so why not.

Now the thing you're learning doesn't have to be Islamic but it can be. If you want something Islamic then it's obvious just go read an Islamic book that I'm sure you have somewhere or listen to an Islamic talk.

ignore the coffee(im sorry)

If you prefer something else then watch a documentary or learn how to do something new like origami, drawing, writing skills etc.

P.S if you want interesting documentaries go to magnatesmedia it is one of my favourite channels.

Reading a book

I love reading and I read a lot in general but I'm telling you I read so much more in Ramadan it's actually kind of crazy. It's an amazing time passer and once you find the genre you love everything starts to go way easier. My personal favourite is teen mysteries such and the naturals, one of us is lying, AGGGTM ,etc because it gets my brain thinking, tends to be fast pace and I just find them interesting. Not to mention when it's teenagers solving the mysteries the side-plots just tend to be things I'm interested in.

Point is reading is a good time passer once you find the thing that interests you.

Giving Charity

Since it's Ramadan you're good deeds should definitely increase and one way to do this is by giving charity. I've always had a tradition of buying some food and then giving it to the less fortunate in Ramadan and honestly it's fun and just takes up a good amount of you're day. Basically just go ask you're mum and dad if you can go out one day buy a few loaves of bread or any other staple food and then go look for people to give it to. This is one of my favourite things to do in Ramadan since I was younger and you'll get reward for it.

Even if you don't do this and just help people out or donate money it's still charity but if you're looking to pass time while doing it this is a nice way to do it or like I said help someone in need it's still a form of charity. Even if you're helping a sibling with something they don't understand at school or teaching them Qur'an.(in fact that's a type of charity and Sadaqah Jariyah for you)

The obvious

Now time for me to Miss Obvious, spend time in Ibadah. While you can't do this all day long you can do it for quite a lot of it. I mean think about it when you read Salah and then read Qur'an after that takes at least 45 minutes - an hour and from   Asr to Maghrib you can spend in Ibadah even if it's helping you're mum.

Well that's all for today I hope you enjoyed my post and I hope it was helpful. Also I hope you're all having an amazing Ramadan, as always if you have any questions feel free to ask at adiaryofanoverthinker@gamil.com

till next time
