Heyy and welcome to 'diaryofanoverthinker'.Today we're FINALLY talking about Off Campus the book adaptation that had quite literally everyone in an absolute chokehold.Soo sit back, relax and enjoy my little yap session

General

ok so my biggest regret and shame as a reader is that I never actually got around to reading the Off Campus books and then...well i obviously just watched the show,as a reader it brings me great disgust and sadness 😭 but i will eventually get to them, I promise.

Like after I finished Boys of Tommen so many people were saying "if you liked Boys of Tommen then you have to read Off Campus" (and we all know the reading slump after R10 is sooo real) but I just never got down to it.

I do however totally see why a Boys of Tommen fan would enjoy it. they have that same addictive friend group vibe that just makes you want to know everything about every single character.

I also hadn't really gotten into hockey romances (well other than Fake Skating but thats because its a Lynn Painter book and I'll read literally anything she writes) until this year when I started the Windy City series and then read Unsteady by Peyton Corrine. Like just after Boys of Tommen I couldn't do it, nothing was comparing and I didn't want to jump into a new addictive fandom

but yes guys...I get the hype.

That being said... whoever judged girls for reading our little sports romances and is now into Off Campus, respectfully, go away.

Like, can we seriously address how it had EVERYONE in a chokehold, and now everyone's a Garrett Graham girlie? Like yes, it was an amazing show, and I don't blame anyone who became obsessed or decided to watch it instead of studying, but guysss, something about people who judged book readers and are now this obsessed with a book adaptation has always annoyed me.

That being said... whoever judged girls for reading our little sports romances and is now into Off Campus, respectfully, go away.

However, this show was AMAZING, and I absolutely loved it. Not to mention, the edits made it 1000x better.

I also know that while it was an amazing show when you think about it as a TV series made in 2026, it was not the most book-accurate. So, I am sorry to the book girlies who didn't get the book accuracy they wanted because that would piss me off.

Sound Track

Ok, so what is up with all of these new adaptations having the most amazing soundtrack ever? Like seriously, the songs from Off Campus were stuck in my head for weeks. I mean, I think we can all agree the song of the summer this year is Girls by Kid LAROI, and like On the Floor, I cannot hear it without thinking about my girl Allie.

Like seriously, those songs now BELONG to the Off Campus world, so whoever was in charge of that soundtrack... well done. Seriously.

Characters

Ok, can I just say I love every single character and how they were all so normal and, like, not toxic? Like, if this was any other show, Justin would have 10000% not tried to help her and would've just stolen the song. Logan would've gone for Hannah despite Garrett, and it all would've been a complete mess. But everyone here was so sweet and kind and just had such genuine friendships and bonds, and I absolutely loved it.

Well, that's all for today. Off Campus was seriously an amazing show, and I cannot wait for season 2.
